There is a game that came with an older model of windows computers that was similar to bejeweled.
The game had the same concept but there were blocks instead of jewels and the blocks had four colours and the letters A,B,C and D on them.

I believe the game you are referring to is Minesweeper, it came on Windows Xp. Currently you cannot download this for mac but you can play it online :)
